Look for the gold lettering

You’ll know Jones’ by its frontage: white walls, black pilasters, JONES in gilt letters over the door and flower boxes beneath etched-glass windows. It has been a part of Clane since 1860.

Inside, it’s a proper local with room to settle in. A long bar lined with studded stools, booths and button-back banquettes, lamps hung low over the counter, and corners made for a quiet pint.

The bar

Pints, poured properly

Read the reviews and the same word keeps coming up: the Guinness.

Beyond the stout there’s a long run of taps, a back bar stacked with spirits, cocktails, wine and good coffee from nine in the morning. Pull up a stool at the counter, take a booth with the gang, or settle in for the match.

The bistro

Generous plates, seven days a week

Jones’ is a bar and bistro, and the kitchen pulls its weight from breakfast through to dinner: Sunday roasts, stone-baked pizzas, wings and ribs, burgers with chips, and big portions at fair prices. A new menu landed in July 2026, with fresh flavours alongside the classics.

What’s on

Music on Saturday. Sport all week.

The beer garden: rubble-stone walls, red doors with white scalloped trim, planters and a furled parasol

The beer garden

Made for long evenings

Stone walls, red doors, picnic benches and festoon lights strung overhead. When the sun comes out in Clane, this is the place to be. There’s a smoking area too.
